Introducing First Foods Workshop

Introducing First Foods Workshop

Yesterday was my first workshop as a “small business” over at Little Gem’s Children’s Consignment Boutique! It was very exciting (to say the least) as I’ve decided to take Bites for Babies to another level.  There’s just too much passion involved for me to NOT expand my culinary horizons!

I recently decided to share my passion for cooking with other local moms and to prove that making baby food is not as difficult as everything might think.  YES, it takes time but I believe that the benefits outweigh the cons.  YOU choose the ingredients and ultimately, YOU know what’s going in your baby’s food.  What’s more important than raising a happy and HEALTHY child?!

Passing out treats for mom…

Here’s what I prepared for the hungry babies (and moms!):

Apple and Date Compote with Greek yogurt

Sweet Potato Hummus

(Rolling the lemon to soften it making it easier to squeeze out all the juice!)

YUM! (Good thing there were some leftovers to bring home!)

Chocolate Almond Butter Energy Bites for the moms (recipe coming soon!)

And last but not least, a small “care package” to bring home for baby (or apparently older siblings as I’ve been told!)…

A BIG thank you to all the moms who came out to support my endeavour and for the positive (and encouraging) feedback!  I hope they walked away with some useful information as well as some inspiration to get their baby food-making journey started!

An even bigger thanks to Heather from Little Gem’s for offering up the space as well as for taking over the role of “photographer” for the event! 😉

I went to this workshop – Lisa is a wealth of knowledge! I enjoyed hearing all of her ideas. There were so many!! I liked how she shared what she herself learned along the way, experience really is the best teacher. Can’t wait to get to work in my kitchen

    • That’s encouraging Nicole…I never said I was a “chef!” I too agree that you can learn so much from practice (and passion!)
