Have you ever made your own pudding? It is unbelievably easy and quick to make. This vegan chocolate pudding requires no cooking time, takes only 5 minutes to prepare and is packed with goodness!
This version might be dairy-free and super healthy but it is every bit as rich, creamy, and silky smooth as the pudding you remember from your childhood.
This raw, all-natural pudding will satisfy your sweet tooth, but won’t give you a sugar crash and the fact that is nutritionally dense is a plus. Avocados are rich in heart-healthy omega 3-fatty acids and dark cocoa powder is rich in magnesium and antioxidants.
The quality of the ingredients will make or break this recipe so be sure to choose fresh, ripe avocados and a good quality cocoa powder and sweetener, such as organic agave nectar, maple syrup or raw honey.
This recipe is also completely customizable. If you prefer your pudding on the sweeter side just add more sweetener. On the contrary, if you like that deep, intense chocolate flavor, simply add less sweetener.
Although you can use any sweetener you want, I recommend you using a liquid sweetener since they blend easily. Also, if the pudding is too thick for your liking you can add a touch of plant-based milk (coconut is my favourite!).
Besides being easy and quick to make this recipe will be a hit with the kiddos! Little do my kids know that their afternoon snack is actually healthy for them. Just look at the satisfaction on their faces…
Comparing chocolate moustaches 😉
Seeing the joy on my kid’s faces as they devour their snack makes the blood, sweat, and tears involved in preparing it worth it (well, all 5 minutes of it!).
If you try this recipe (and love it!) be sure to snap a pic and tag me onInstagram with #bitesforfoodies so I can see your creation!
Not only for babies 😉
Awesome! So, you enjoyed it yourself I suppose??
Ohh I never had this before – makes me want to give it a try!
This sounds like a yummy recipe! I know some people who are Vegans who would like this recipe. Thanks for sharing.
This is very interesting I will have to give this a try, never thought to use avocados in a pudding recipe before.
Gotta show this to my friend! She is vegan and would love this to pieces!
Thanks for sharing!
I never would have thought to use avacodos! I’m totally trying this!
Avocados are what make this pudding…it’s so creamy!
This looks really good!! I have never made pudding with avocado but I bet it’s amazing!!
I have never made pudding before homemade anyway. This looks like a great recipe. We haven’t had pudding in awhile. Will have to make some.
I’ve actually never made traditional pudding…this one is so much easier to make!
I might copy your recipe and make it. My son love chocolate pudding but he doesn’t like avocado, I can hid it in this micture lol.

He won’t have a clue that it’s in there 😉
I can assure you that he won’t taste the avocado…all it does is all a creamy consistency to the pudding!
I’m not a vegan myself, but I have a few friends that are. Going to have to pin this so I have a dessert to make them when they come over!
Actually, I think this is a great option for non-vegans too since it is much healthier than pre-packaged pudding. My husband is pretty picky and is not a vegan and he likes it too 😉
I can’t remember the last time I had chocolate pudding. And knowing that yours has avocado, I got to try that. I LOVE avocado!
I don’t really like traditional puddings because of their gelatinous consistency…this one is smooth and creamy!
That looks delicious. I love avocados and I had no idea you can make them ionto pudding.
Oh yum! This looks amazing! I had no idea that you could make pudding using avocados!
I try to put avocado into everything, lol!
I’ve never tried vegan chocolate pudding before! This looks so yummy, thanks for sharing the recipe.
I didn’t even know that you could make vegan pudding! And with avocados? I never would have even thought that would work! I’ll have to pass this on to some of my vegas loving friends!
Great, thanks! Although, I do think you should try it yourself too 😉
Wow. Wow, that looks so good. I am a huge chocolate fan. I’ve never in my life made homemade pudding. I will have to try this, looks SO much better than the bought!
Thanks! And yes, (I think) it is! The great things about this pudding is that there is actually REAL chocolate in there…nothing purer than dark cocoa powder!
That looks delicious! I’ve never tried something like this but anything that has avocados I’m willing to try. Thank you for sharing.
Yum! That looks absolutely delicious! I have been ona pudding cook lately and I think I just found my new favorite recipe!
I think you’ll appreciate that this one is raw and so it doesn’t involve any cooking time!
Avocados are totally healthy for us in many ways and this would be a great way to eat them. I love chocolate too so this sounds like a recipe I am going to have to try for sure. Thanks for sharing.
Many people don’t like the flavour of avocado (but know how healthy it is for them) so this is a great way to incorporate it into one’s diet.
I am going to totally make this, this week! I just wish avocados weren’t so expensive here.
Whereabouts do you live? They are quite pricey, in general. I would love some feedback once you make it 😉
This sounds so much healthier than the package mix. I love avocados and enjoy eating them raw. I might have to give this recipe a try.
It definitely is! I never buy the pre-packaged stuff anymore!
I’ve actually made this before in the past… probably a few years ago now though. All I could taste was avocado. Lol I guess I know my chocolate haha.
Really? You should maybe try it again and add more cocoa and sweetener? I’m just so used to ‘natural’ tasting food that when I eat the pre-packaged stuff, I just don’t like it…
It has been ages since I have had chocolate pudding, mostly due to the fact that my body can’t tolerate with anything that has milk in it. Thankfully, there is an alternative!
This one is worth a try then!
I love this recipe idea. I like how overall it is a healthy desert idea.
this would be awesome for my daughter and I. I could get used to more avocado treats like this.
Hope you both love it!
Love how you add avocado! It is so weird how it tastes very yummy with chocolate, this is a great recipe.
I’ve also made this with carob powder…it gives it that caramel-like flavour…
This is a great healthy alternative and it looks like your little ones loved it!

Can you tell?! lol!
Easy and delicious! I love that it’s healthy too! My kids love pudding, but we consider it a treat. This is a much healthier alternative!
I don’t have to feel guilty about giving this to the kids 😉
I can’t wait to make this. My kids love pudding, but I rarely give it to them because it’s empty calories. This pudding is actually healthy. Yay!
Exactly! I would love to hear what you think of the recipe 😉
I’m trying to eat more vegan food, so this recipe and perfect for me and I’m sure my little girl is going to love it too ^_^
I also try to follow a mainly vegetarian, sometimes vegan diet…it makes me feel so good!
That looks so good! Making with avocados really ups the health factor. Thanks for sharing this!
There is nothing unhealthy about this! 😉
I’ve never made something like this, but it looks really healthy!
The kids sure look like they love it! Sometimes recipes with cocoa powder give me migraines, so I am not sure I could eat this one though I love avocados! It is so hit and miss. I can eat it sometimes but others..wham!
You could substitute the cocoa powder with carob powder? It would have a different flavour (a more caramel-like flavour) but it could be worth a try. You could even halve the recipe just to try it!
If the kids like it, it has to be good! I’ll be trying this soon because I love, love, love avocados and chocolate.
Of course! They’re my biggest critics, lol!
My sister in law is a vegan and she’s always looking for new treats to serve her family! She will love this.
Thanks for sharing!
