Now that I know that the health benefits are far more than I had thought, I’m going to make more of an effort to get a replacement cord (as well as looking in to getting one for my younger son’s room).

I’m also going to use the tips you shared to see if the one he has is genuine (it’s heavy, and an orange-pink shade which seem like good signs that it is) but, we bought it years ago in an aquarium gift shop (that’s what makes me wonder if it’s a knock off or a good one).
