Who would have thought that starting a Blog, posting a few recipes here and there and adding some (horrible) pictures would evolve into me learning how to take “better” pictures, writing Blog posts related to parenting, doing food workshops for moms, selling homemade baby food…and now hitting the local news!
My interview for CBC Radio was aired yesterday morning. If you missed it, here it is:
(For the record, I counted TEN “ums”, “ahhs”, and “you know!”)
Note to self: Did you forget how much it bothers you when people repeatedly say “umm, ahh, you know?!” I mean, you dock your students marks for saying it in oral presentations…what kind of example are you setting??!!
It came as quite a surprise to me when I got an email from a reporter from CBC Radio asking if he could interview me. It came as a bigger surprise when we talked briefly Monday morning and then he arrived at my house mid-afternoon. (Good thing I had enough time to do a massive “wipe-down” of the main level!). It wasn’t enough time to shower, do my hair, look presentable…instead I was forced to put my hair in my “go-to pre-gym” workout bun…Needless to say when he surprised me (again) with some pictures I was somewhat mortified that my bun was going to hit the news!!
There it is…the “bun!” 😉

Anyone who knows me will tell you that I usually have a delayed reaction to things…whether this is good or bad, I’m not sure! Having said that, it HAS dawned on me that MY business was in the news, this “baby”I created (no pun intended) has become something I never imagined it would have.
To say this is exciting for me is an understatement! I don’t know where this road will take me but I’m enjoying the ride. Thanks to those who have been supporting me from the beginning, those who’ve planted the (what I used to call, “yah right!”) ideas in my head that have ultimately resulted in the “birth” of my business, and for the ongoing support of friends, family, and to the moms who are now purchasing my baby food!
Congratulations. This is such fantastic news! I’m not surprised either! Wishing you continued success and beautiful Mother’s day. xx
Thank you…and you too! 😉
Loved listening to the interview ~ thanks for posting it Lisa! And I’m glad you had your hair in a bun. Makes you look like an ordinary mom with an extra-ordinary idea! xo
Thanks Nicole…although one is always much more critical when hearing him/herself (on the radio)! I AM an ordinary mom…I even go out to run errands with “the” bun sometimes 😉
