Treat your loved ones this Valentine’s day with these decadent, homemade chocolate peanut butter cups! These four-ingredient raw treats are 100% vegan, healthy and delicious, and only take minutes to prepare.
Last year on Valentine’s Day I posted a recipe for Two-Bite Chocolates, which have since become a staple snack in our home. These raw peanut butter cups are a variation of that recipe, made with heart-healthy extra virgin coconut oil, natural sweetener, and bittersweet dark cocoa powder.
The addition of salt heightens the flavour of the bittersweet chocolate and is the finishing touch to these rich, decadent treats. And when I say rich, I mean that usually only one of them will suffice to satisfy your sweet tooth!
These are a family fave; the kids and my husband and I love them, and not to mention that they are a fun and easy treat to prepare with the kids! The only problem is that most of the time the mixture ends up in our mouths rather than in the muffin tin!
These chocolate peanut butter cups freeze extremely well for up to 6 months…so stock up and take advantage of doubling or tripling the recipe! Store them for a quick on-the-go treat or serve as a decadent dessert with coffee for dinner guests.
This is my husband’s favorite treat. We have an anniversary coming up an now I have something to make for him. Thanks!
I’m sure he’d love these!! You could also try my two-bite chocolates http://www.bitesforbabies.com/recipes/two-bite-chocolates/ and maybe stuff them with something sweet, like raspberries 😉
I’m sure he’ll love these as much as Reese Pieces!
That is so simple to make! I feel like making some right this moment satisfy my late night cravings! lol
They’re simple enough to make on-the-fly! You should try them!
They’re really quick to make but you have to wait for them to solidify (unless you lick the spoon!!)
My mom and I have been making homemade candy since I was a kid. Making peanut butter cups was my favorite. I would sneak so many when she wasn’t looking. LOL
That’s awesome! Did you ever make something like this? I truly think that homemade candies and sweets taste better than the store-bought ones!
We didn’t make raw/vegan but I am trying to make much healthier and better for me overall choices these days. I’ve pinned your recipe and have been trying to remember where i put my peanut butter cup mold!
I love both peanut butter and chocolate so that is definitely a thumb’s up for me. Never thought of that though. Brilliant idea!
Thanks! They’re decadent and healthy!
Out of all the sweet treats you can make that satisfy dietary restrictions (with the exception of a peanut allergy), peanut butter cups are a winner! I’ve made some when I was wheat-free/gluten-free/sugar-free…and wish I would have used your method instead of the way I made them.
How did you make them? Were the ones you made raw?
Oh my gosh, these look so delicious. They look FAR better than the store bought kind and are right up my alley! I think I’m going to have to try these on the weekend. I’ve got a mini muffin pan that would be PERFECT for them- thanks! 😀
I hope you do! I would love feedback 😉
I love the idea of homemade peanutbutter cups! This way you know all the ingredients that goes in it.
I love the combination of chocolate and peanut butter! I’ll have to make these when I have a chance! 🙂
The nice thing is, you don’t even need to set aside a lot of time to make these!

Doesn’t everyone?! lol!

Those are one of my favorite ways to eat chocolate. My daughter would love this recipe too, easy enough for a beginner.
Anyone can make this really….my kids help me make it too!
I’m going to have to try and make these when my s/o’s boys are here for the weekend. I’m trying to cut back on the processed sugar and LOVE that you’re using agave in these.
You could also use honey or maple syrup but in this specific recipe I prefer the agave!
I love chocolate peanut butter cups and to be able to make them homemade sounds amazing; thanks for this recipe!
No problem! Enjoy!
Those chocolate peanut butter cups look really delicious! I love peanut butter and chocolate together. These are fun snacks and it’s great that they’re simple and easy to prepare.
Thanks! They are….and I prefer homemade ones to store-bought 😉
I’ve always loved Reese’s but it can be sweet sometimes.
I’ll look into this recipe…
These are sweet but the bitter cocoa really comes through…definitely not as sweet as regular Reese Pieces!
I haven’t had a Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup in ages. These look so good!
I had no idea you could make them like this! I’d love to surprise my daughter these homemade peanut butter cups.

Thanks! And they’re not difficult to make at all…anyone can make these!
Those look so delicious! I never thought of adding salt to chocolate!
It really brings out the flavour of the chocolate! Actually, I always add a touch of sea salt in all my baked goods…
These look absolutely amazing. I would love to make them myself!
I have been obsessed with making PB cups for my boyfriend. He loves almond butter so this will be a great treat!
I’ve also tried them with almond butter (which I love) but it’s just not the same as with peanut butter! 😉
Okay I’m not going to lie. You are seriously amazing. I just bookmarked this and your two bite chocolates and will be pinning them and making them. YUM
Great!! Let me know when you do…I have no doubt you’ll love them!
Oh these look so good! I can’t believe how simple they are to make too!
They are!! I prefer making these rather than buying chocolate!
Oh my goodness – you know I have saved this – and so appreciate it – Wow – never knew I could make my own and a bit healthier! Thank you
So glad you’ve been inspired to make them!
Omg these look absolutely delicious!!! I love all things peanut butter!!! Yummy!!
What a great looking treat. Perfect for the occasional sweet tooth!
Yes, and seriously, you only need one!! They are SO rich!
These look so good….and easier to make then I thought! I will try this 🙂
I am SO making these! They look amazing. Peanut butter cups have always been my favorite candy. Yum!
They definitely taste different than the ‘real’ ones, but that’s because they are made with REAL ingredients 😉
Those look amazing! I’ve never thought of making my own peanut butter cups. I’m certainly going to make these. Yum!
Chocolate peanut butter cups are my favorite! I haven’t made them in a long time, though!
How do you make them? Are they raw like these ones?
I have made them in a similar way in the past (vegetarian that mostly eats vegan). 🙂
These looks so yummy! O how I wish I could eat peanut butter 🙂
Are you allergic?! You could still make them…without the peanut butter! This recipe is basically the same (without the nut butter).

Oh my goodness gracious!! These look incredible! Like, really really amazing! I need some ASAP!
Thanks!! Enjoy 😉

I really love Reese’s Peanut butter cups so I will be definitely trying this recipe out!
look amazing!! i love chocolate and peanut butter
They’re a match made in heaven, right?! 😉
Oh these look delicious! I would love to try these out and Reese’s are my husbands favorite! Do you think you could use one of the natural peanut butters in this recipe? The natural PB is pretty soft already so I don’t think I would need to melt but not sure if they would set properly? Let me know what you think.
It’s not a matter of the peanut butter setting properly…it needs to be somewhat runny so that you can evenly spread it over the chocolate. I used a natural peanut butter and still chose to heat it up slightly. Alternatively, you could just dollop an unmelted spoonful into the middle of the chocolate without spreading it out evenly! Both ways work!
I always wondered how we made chocolate peanut butter delights. I never thought we used muffin tins. Genuis
Thanks! I do have a variety of chocolate molds but the muffin tins come in handy too!
Eeeek! Reese’s are my favorite. This is just another recipe I will be making. The fact that it is such a quick recipe is a plus.
Great! Please post some feeback if you get a chance…would love to know what you think of them!
OMG, I am drooling over here!! Reese’s Peanut Butter cups are my ALL time favorite candy, but I have never made them myself! YUMMY!
These are seriously SO easy to make! They are very rich but not too sweet. The quality of peanut butter you use will obviously make or break the recipe!
