The holiday season is supposed to be a joyous time, but often times the task of finding the perfect gift for the kids results in no joy, and all stress! For me, every Christmas proves to be challenging, in terms of finding unique gifts and toys for my kids – mainly because their taste in toys is pretty simple, and more ‘old-school’, if you will. They have not succumbed to any particular children’s cartoon and they rarely use technology. Most days they spend their time inventing games and scenarios – mainly dress-up and kitchen play, and if it’s neither of the two, it’s colouring! Hours and hours of colouring, cutting and pasting, and drawing. As much as this truly resonates with my 1990’s inner child, it also proves to be a challenge since there can only be so much variety when it comes to colouring activities for kids. At least, that’s what I thought!

These top 10 gifts for kids who love to colour are accessible (just click on the links), fun, and interesting – and I’m sure the kids will love them!

  • We usually try to get something for our kids for Christmas that makes them be creative. I am in love with these options! The pillow case and large poster are super cool, and I know my kids would spend hours “designing” them!

  • These are fantastic ideas. My 5 year old loves to color and she tries to color on everything! It would be so much fun to get her one of those giant posters or even the pillow case! I love the idea of coloring on the go too!

  • The playhouse that you color is on my son’s wishlist. I think he would get a kick out of being able to color something that he can actually “Fit” inside. Certainly a fun idea!

  • These are some awesome ideas. I really like the coloring house. I know my granddaughter would have a blast with this!

    • I bought that one for my kids…I can’t wait for them to open it! Hours and hours (and hours) of colouring to be had, lol!

  • Wow a desk to go. How cool. I love all the items. I always enjoy getting creative with my nephew. Seems like a such a nice thing to do. Great list.

  • I want those for myself!! You should the check out http://www.us.eatsleepdoodle.com/ (the company that makes the pillow) for other awesome gift ideas! And how cool is the ‘Make Your Own Book?!’ I’m assuming the girls love to colour??

Oh oh! I sooo needed these tips for my nieces and their Christmas presents this year, thank you!!! I think I’ll get the coloring pillow case and build your own books gifts! Thank you 🙂

  • These are so cool. I love the large poster….especially for older kids. The pillowcase is just so cute. Can you wash it? The color your own book and print it…..is just incredible. Hands down these are some of the best ideas i’ve seen this year.
