Endless Summer Days in Sardinia

Endless Summer Days in Sardinia

Winter has arrived, but not yet in Sardinia! The endless summer days in Sardinia are something I’ve been looking forward to since moving here 6 months ago. Mind you, the cooler season has definitely rolled in but only rears its head during the early morning hours and from the late afternoons and on. Just like anywhere in the world the temperature here varies. There are sporadic bouts of chilly weather and strong winds, then there are those sunny, warm days, reminiscent of summer. In fact, with temperatures sometimes reaching up to 70 degrees by midday, it often feels like the end of spring.

What better way to enjoy the beautiful weather than with an afternoon trip to the beach. If you didn’t know, summer in Sardinia is beautiful – but it is also hectic as hoards and hoards of tourists take over the quaint ocean-lined towns and the glorious beaches. As much as I love summer and the daily beach life, now that I am a local I’m learning to appreciate the calm and silence of the beach during off season. I often bring the kids to the beach on these warm days and truly enjoy the quiet time that we spend together in nature. I also love coming on my own, relishing in a silent yoga practice in complete solitude. The bright sun, the warm breeze, the sound of the ocean – it’s literally impossible to not be inspired by it all!

  • Looks like a wonderful place for holidays with the family.
Relax and practice outdoor sports, like hiking, kayaking and Pilates.
    Thanks for sharing!

I love going to the beach too in the off season. What a gift to be able to enjoy it without the crowds. My kids love it too – the freedom to just run around and play in the sand.

    • So very true! Although I love the beach during the summer, it’s a completely different experience during off season!

  • What a beautiful place you live in! I love going to the beach when it is quiet and calm. The peace and tranquility of it all makes it that much better. I tend to stay away when tourists flock to our shores for Carnival. The crows aren’t my thing.

  • What a wonderful post! The pictures are amazing, and I just added Sardinia to my list of must see and experience places. Thank you for this Lisa

We really need to get back to Sardinia… winter or summer! Love this post!

  • Ah! Yes! I can totally relate. The off season is the best time for us to appreciate the beach. Sardinia is really beautiful though. The water looks so clear and amazing. Definitely the best time to do yoga!

  • Looks like it was such a beautiful place out there So idyllic and lovely out there. That’s cool that you could get your yoga in. But I am with you appreciating where I am at an kind of having summer all year long. Where I am in California we have sun and rain, and not much rain.

  • Oh wow. We live in COlorado so we are land locked. Seeing the water makes me want to go on vacation on the water soon. What a beautiful place. Totally adding this to our vacation wish list.

    • Two of my friends live in Colorado and I see their pictures all the time…it is absolutely stunning there! Not a bad place to live at all 😉

  • Sardinia just went to the top of my must-visit list! Thanks for introducing me to this paradise. I’d love the temperate climate all year round. I bet they have wonderful seafood there too. Can’t wait to plan a trip there!

  • Oh my goodness Sardinia looks gorgeous! What I wouldn’t do to be doing yoga with you! We have already had really cold days in KY and I can’t bear the thought of thinking snow is on the horizon. Enjoy your gorgeous days in Sardinia. I have added it to my travel bucket list!
